What the data shows
- United Arab Emirates ranks #1 with 4.68%, ahead of Saudi Arabia (4.63%) and Oman (3.96%).
About this chart
The fastest population growth in 2025 comes from the Gulf: the United Arab Emirates at 4.68%, Saudi Arabia at 4.63%, Oman at 3.96% and Qatar at 3.92%. Immigration drives much of that growth, since these countries draw large numbers of foreign workers. Syria is fifth at 3.77%. Next come five African countries, Chad (3.41%), the Central African Republic (3.37%), Somalia (3.34%), Niger (3.22%) and DR Congo (3.20%), where high birth rates are the main driver.
The indicator is the annual percentage change in total population, from the World Bank, for countries with more than 1 million people. It combines births, deaths and net migration, so a high figure does not say which of those is responsible. Georgia (3.18%), Angola (3.00%), Ukraine (2.92%), Mali (2.90%) and Yemen (2.89%) complete the 15 shown. Every value is from 2025.
