About this chart

China's Mixue Ice Cream & Tea reports about 53,000 locations, the most of any chain in this ranking, ahead of McDonald's with 45,356 restaurants in 2025 and Starbucks with 40,990 stores at the end of fiscal 2025. Luckin Coffee and Subway each report about 35,000, KFC about 32,000 and Domino's 20,591 in 2024. Chinese chains make up five of the 12: Mixue, Luckin, Cotti Coffee, Good me and Tastien.

Counts are each company's latest published figure, so the years differ (2024 to 2026), and several are rounded company claims, including Subway and Luckin at 35,000 and Mixue at 53,000. The ranking counts locations, not sales, so a chain of small shops can outrank one with higher revenue. Pizza Hut (19,974) and Burger King (19,900) each operate close to 20,000 locations. Chains with outdated counts, such as Dunkin' and Taco Bell, are left out.

The data

Retrieved November 4, 2026. Reshaped to a static ranking by number of locations (worldwide, not US sales) because the same source's revenue table is flagged as disputed with inconsistent metrics. Counts are each company's latest published figure, in different years (2024-2026), and several are rounded company claims (Subway and Luckin 35,000; Mixue 53,000). Chains with stale counts (Dunkin', Krispy Kreme, Taco Bell, Wallace) were omitted. The source article was under a deletion discussion in Oct 2026.
