  • Taylor Swift (2024) ranks #1 with 26.6B, ahead of Taylor Swift (2023) (26.1B) and Bad Bunny (2025) (19.8B).

About this chart

Taylor Swift holds the record for a single year on Spotify: 26.6 billion streams as the world's top artist in 2024, after 26.1 billion in 2023. Bad Bunny has the most #1 years in this series with four: 2020 (8.3 billion), 2021 (9.1 billion), 2022 (18.5 billion) and 2025 (19.8 billion). Drake topped three years, in 2015, 2016 and 2018, and Ed Sheeran two.

The chart shows each year's #1 artist and their stream total from 2014 to 2025. Ed Sheeran led 2014 with 0.86 billion streams, and Post Malone led 2019 with 6.5 billion. The rise from under 1 billion to over 26 billion partly reflects a service and user base that grew, so years are not strictly comparable. Spotify publishes a count only for the #1 artist, not all-time totals. The top five for 2025 were Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake and Billie Eilish.

The data

Source: Spotify Wrapped / annual announcements of the most-streamed global artist, as compiled in Wikipedia, List of most-streamed artists on Spotify ("By year"). Retrieved November 4, 2026. Reshaped: Spotify publishes the most-streamed artist of each year (with the stream count only for the #1 artist) but no all-time stream totals, so the chart shows each year's #1 artist and their stream total that year, 2014-2025 (the 2013 winner, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, has no listed stream count). Totals are Spotify's rounded figures for the Wrapped calendar period and are not strictly comparable across years (the service and its user base grew). Wikipedia states Taylor Swift is the most-streamed artist in Spotify history (as of April 2026) and Bad Bunny the most-streamed male artist; those all-time totals are not published, so they are not charted.
