About this chart
Libya tops the latest growth ranking with real GDP growth of 13.4% in 2025, followed by Ireland at 12.3% and Kyrgyzstan at 11.1%. Ethiopia (9.8%), Rwanda (9.4%), Tajikistan (8.4%) and Vietnam (8.0%) all post growth above 8%. India, the largest economy in the top 15, grew 7.6%, just ahead of Guinea at 7.4%. Every figure shown is from 2025.
Real GDP growth is the annual change in an economy's output after removing inflation, so it shows volume rather than price effects. The World Bank figures here cover countries with more than 5 million people. A high rate can reflect a rebound from a low base, as it often does after conflict or disruption, so fast growth does not always mean a large or wealthy economy. Zimbabwe and Benin tie at 8.1%.
