Step by step
- In Google Sheets, select the table including headers and press Copy.
- Open the MakeYourChart editor and paste into the data box. Tabs from Sheets are detected automatically.
- If your dates run across the top row, that's fine; use Flip if the chart reads it the wrong way.
- Pick bar, line, column or donut, set the format, and export an MP4.
Shape your sheet for animation
- Dates in the first column (one row per date) and one column per item is the easiest layout.
- Keep the header row: the first cell can be anything, the rest become item names.
- Leave a cell blank when an item has no data yet; it enters the chart when its data starts.
- Use a long format (date, name, value) if your sheet comes from a database export.
What about Google Slides?
Slides can animate a chart as a whole object (fade or fly in), but not series by series and not over time. Export your animated chart as a 16:9 MP4 and insert it into Slides with Insert > Video (upload it to Drive first).
