About this chart

This page is not an all-time ranking of history's richest people. It ranks each person by their highest net worth on Forbes' annual top-10 lists from 1987 to 2026, in nominal dollars with no inflation adjustment, so a person's real peak between lists could be higher. Elon Musk is first at $839 billion on the March 2026 list, followed by Larry Page ($257 billion), Sergey Brin ($237 billion) and Bernard Arnault ($233 billion).

Jeff Bezos peaked at $224 billion in 2026 (his 2021 figure was $177 billion), Mark Zuckerberg at $222 billion in 2026, Larry Ellison at $192 billion in 2025 and Warren Buffett at $154 billion in 2025. Bill Gates peaked at $129 billion on the 2022 list, and his $90 billion in 1999 was the largest fortune of the 1990s. Jensen Huang entered the top ten for the first time in 2026, at $154 billion.
