About this chart
The United States has the most dollar millionaires in every UBS Global Wealth Report edition shown: 23,627,000 in the 2026 report, 23,831,000 in 2025 and 21,951,319 in 2024. China is second with 5,305,000 in 2026, down from 6,327,000 in the 2025 edition. Japan is third with 2,902,000, ahead of Germany (2,648,000), the United Kingdom (2,428,000) and France (2,388,000). A millionaire here is an adult with net worth of at least US$1 million.
Read the editions with care. Each report covers wealth at the end of the previous year, and UBS re-estimates earlier years in every edition, so differences mix real change with revisions. The 2026 edition says the US added over 440,000 millionaires in 2025, yet its edition total is slightly below the 2025 one. UBS says the worldwide number rose 1.5% in 2025. Canada's 2,098,000 is identical in the 2025 and 2026 editions.
